Our Instructor
Nancy Render has been with the Traverse City Cooperative Preschool for over 29 years, prior to those years, she was a coop teacher for 11 years in another community. Along with her loving husband of MANY years, Curt, they have raised five children. Nancy and Curt are also grandparents of seven (6 girls, 1 boy)! Nancy takes great pride and pleasure in education not only the children but parents as well. “I still love the coop, it’s parents, children, and philosophy as much as I could love a job. I feel so blessed to get to spend my days in the company of preschoolers and their parents who teach, instruct, motivate, inspire, bless, awe, complete, move, and grow me every year. I still feel I have SO much more to learn about children so I keep on keepin’ on.” Nancy is enthusiastic, loving and inspiring. She is always willing to lend support and advice to parents along with giving your child gentle guidance and affection while entering the beginning of their educational experience.
Dedication
This was the dedication section in a TCCP Cookbook developed a number of years ago by coop parents. The words ring as true today as they did then.
Henry Adams once said that “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” Over 30 years of teaching, Nancy has had over 2,000 children at TCCP. But the number of lives she has influenced is incalculable. Nancy shows us all how to be better people, to love deeper, talk kinder, volunteer more, have deeper faith, learn more patience, to know tolerance, embrace understanding, compassion and forgiveness. She teaches us how to give to our children the best of ourselves and of life. She does this all with a kind look, a warm hug or by a kiss on our child’s forehead. Nancy only exists for a small whisper of time in our lives, our children grow and we grow with them, but we will be forever grateful for the little moment we were blessed enough to share with Nancy Render. Thank you Nancy for teaching all of us. Thank you for the talks, the advice, the comfort. Thank you for your leadership and your endless, sincere devotion to our children. Thank you for the kisses and hugs you so generously hand out to our sweet little ones, your love for them, for us, for life . . . WILL last an eternity. You have made a difference in all of our lives.
